Art is to culture what blood is to the heart. At Illino, we explore a refreshing process of exploring and incorporating cultural motifs into our artistic expression. We believe in telling truthful stories: love, politics, strength, pain, and so on. All in our own context, to highlight our lifestyles, amplify our voices, and advocate for ourselves.

In many ways, we have been told that our identity and modern innovation cannot coexist. But we know that they can. Exploring African culture is the inspiration behind our work, and we do so through writers’ workshops and trainings. In our organization, identity and innovation actually work hand-in-hand.
