Troubled by uncertainty, depression, and a curious mind, Bola struggles to make sense of her life. She struggles more with the seemingly blissful ignorance of both society and her parents. With her true feelings shrouded under the cloak of 'normality', she is forced to bury her darkest thoughts, but for how long?

About Dorcas

Dorcas Akobundu is a pharmacy student by day and a writer by night. She lives by God & curiosity. She weaves individuality and mental/personality disorders into [most of] her stories while simultaneously exploring mundane Nigeria. Her short stories have been published or are forthcoming in Kalahari review, A Coup of Owls, Afro Literary Magazine, Salamander Ink Magazine, Illino, 49th street and more. She has also been shortlisted and longlisted for Awele Creative Trust Award, Phoenix Quill Writing Contest, amongst other accolades.
