Nwaeze, the crown prince of Amaezike Kingdom is secretly in love with a slave girl, Zurielle.
When his father dies mysteriously, he vows to find out who or what is responsible. However, the royal council has more pressing concerns for him: finding the ancient amulet of kings without which he cannot rule, marrying an eligible maiden, and ascending the throne as soon as possible.
Things get messy when during one of the king-making rituals, he discovers that Zurielle is the sacrificial lamb.
